They Do Not Give Pain Pill Prescriptions

Developing agonizing back spasms unfortunately appears to brand a person a manipulative narcotic seeking liar in the eyes of about 75% of the people you'll deal with on the health care system. But narcotics stop the spasm and unfortunately nothing else does stop the spasms. The lingering pain, I can live with. The spasms are terrifying they are so painful. Anyway you can see it in the faces of doctors, nurses ect- the eye rolling, the pursed lips, the arguing with everything you say. And that's how it was for me here at this doctor's office. Look, when a person calls to make an appointment with you for back spasms, tell them up front before they make an appointment that you don't prescribe narcotic pain medications or muscle relaxers. Don't waste people's time waiting for an appointment with you, traveling to an appointment only to have to sit there and listen to your condescending self telling them the pain isn't really that bad and you don't prescribe medications anyway. Its demeaning on top of an already bad situation. Say so upfront when a person calls to make the appointment and leave a person with a choice about whether they want to see you after all if you don't prescribe pain medication. Not everyone wants needles into their spine. I saw the nurse practitioner here. I want to warn others who have back spasms and need medication not spine injections- they do not prescribe pain pills here
